In this episode we visit Mirko Kuit in The Hague. Mirko is one of the most underexposed forces in hardcore. There are few people who, behind the scenes, have made so much progress for hardcore. And he has moving boxes full of photos and negatives to prove it. As in-house photographer for ID&T, Thunderdome and their Thunder Magazine, Mirko was largely single-handedly responsible for capturing the gabber hype that flooded the Netherlands in the mid-1990s. He single-handedly recorded the Netherlands' largest youth culture, which originated on its own soil, and only received the appreciation he deserved twenty-five years later. After the peak of hardcore, they fell into a deep valley and found themselves on the edge of the abyss. Enough to talk about in the eighth episode of the Ekte Verhalen podcast.
